Help, buying new mobo and cpu.

Whats your budget and usage.

The fx 8320 is a bad cpu for anything else than productivity on a budget.

comes from a guy with a dual core cpu....

Usage... Meh not much than some casual gaming. BF4 online, Dota2, CS:GO.

I think this cpu will be  HUGE upgrade for me cos right now i am using g530...

My budget for mobo is around 140$

Hes Core i5 will keep up with and beat the FX crap for running games less stronger cores are better than more weak cores. It's all about IPC and per core performance.

honestly a xeon E3-1230v2 (4core/8 thread) and a cheap 1155 intel mobo thats compatible with that processor is a great choice for all around performance.

the newer xeon E3's like the 1231v3 are good as well but cost more and require a 1150 socket (just to clarify).

You can go with an Intel i3 platform and enjoy consistently high performance across all the games unlike AMD FX where it;s hit and miss. Then you have the virtue of being within budget going Core i3 and you will have the bonus of being able to upgrade to ultra beats Core i5/i7/Xeon down the road when your funds permit.

This , and the FX is horrible for dota 2 , that game uses 2 cores.

Now switch that xeon with an i3 because the op has said that even an i5 is out of his budget,

I'm just thinking about the cheaper mobo offsetting the price. but yeah i3 is still a very good option.
