i'm using DC not boardwell :blink:

 

I know... here's what you originally replied to:

Z87 may support Broadwell if there is a BIOS update

 

otherwise the Z97 will be the next chipset to support it (broadwell) again with a BIOS update

i think i've created a misconception by joining the lines . i meant to say  Z87 will not support broadwell. and you don't need any update for running CPUs now .
