What network card is a good one? I want faster internet connection. Also, if you recommend me one, I was wondering if all network cards fit in all desktops.

Are you needing a NIC? or a Wireless card?

If you already have a 1Gbit NIC you won't be able to get any faster speeds.

A better network card doesn't necessarily mean faster "internet". Most motherboard come already with built in gigabit ethernet. Are you sure your computer doesn't have one?

And generally yes, pretty much all network cards you can find will fit in your desktop, assuming you have a spare PCI-E slot.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

When you say faster internet connection what do you mean? If you want web pages to load faster and streaming of things to run at higher bit rates a NIC won't help you. If you are transferring files over LAN and you need faster speeds(if your current card only supports 10/100 or just sucks) then getting a NIC will help.

Yes I have a 10/100. Is that bad?

Depending on your use it could be, but what speeds is your ISP delivering(or supposed to be)? Because you are trying to make your internet faster right?

No the isp doesnt matter. My internet speed on my desktop is slower than my laptop. I dont know why. What should i do. Should i change to a faster network card?

wait what do you mean I wont be able to get faster speeds

You won't be able to get any better speeds if your internet speed itself is slower that the 10/100 card can handle.

Which is 100/mbps (I think)

If your internet is faster than 100/mbps than you need a 1gbit card.

Ok to be honest. I have a laptop and the laptop gets way faster internet speed than my desktop. Why is that.

Screenshots? Also, what is each computer using to connect to the internet?

I'm also wondering who your ISP is if you don't mind me asking.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.
