Apple tv replacement

so me and my dad are looking for a apple tv replacement. ours is like 7 years old. and we need something better... what do you guys suggest ?

we basicly need to be able to stream from our network storage , our mac, or my computer w/ hdmi output ofc

I would build a little HTPC, but that's probably a bit expensive

CPU: i5-4690k GPU: 280x Toxic PSU: Coolermaster V750 Motherboard: Z97X-SOC RAM: Ripjaws 1x8 1600mhz Case: Corsair 750D HDD: WD Blue 1TB

I can look in a close bazzar wich has a lot of random pc parts... usually 5-10$ each depending on the part...   anyway it needs to be 100$ or less

latency :/

50-80ms not bad at all

@ANewFace mentioned the doko and it looks like a good option, but I don't know how well it would work with a mac

Fire TV or Fire TV Stick

 

Roku or Roku Stick.

 

Or, new Apple TV. 

 

 

Install Plex on your server and whatever other computers you need to stream from, stream using Plex (Fire TV and Roku both have plex apps).
