is it worth replacing my stock h110 fans with a pair of Noctua NF-A14 FLX 140mm?

Or will the difference be negligable?

I don'trecommend that model. I actually reccomend the industrial PPC 3000RPM version of the NF-12 series. They CAN be loud as heck, but they work so efficienty that they will never have to ramp up that high. they provide the same airflow as the stock fans on the h110 at 26.5 dBa. And if something goes wrong, the fans can ramp up and get it back down to a safe temp.

Feel free to PM with any more questions!

Can you quantify WHY they are better than the corsair fans? Yes, I can see that they technically flow more air, but in the real world application, it wont make a difference.

I can guarantee you that OP will see a literally negligible performance gains out of different fans on the H110. I get no difference in cooling temps from Quiet to Performance mode on my H80i, which means increasing airflow != cooler temps.

Yeah, it's a bit steep....

But it's a good investment. The warranty is like what, 6 years? You can reuse these fans in several future builds. Believe me, the cost is justified by the quality and performance,

I personally dont think that its worth it unless youre doing it for the noise reduction alone. It would be very difficult to get better cooling performance from an extra few CFM of airflow on such a big radiator.

On Quiet mode, my GPU is actually louder under load than the H80i. I have tried both Quiet and Performance mode and i get less than .5C difference in average coolant temp, and zero difference in average CPU temp from both modes. If i HAD to run Performance mode, yes, it would be loud as hell but Quiet mode is just as efficient and performs very well.

FYI, im running 4.7ghz @ 1.385V on my i5-4670K

also you have to take in effect that your cooler unlike the H110 is set up in push pull ware as the H110i is only one or the other

Its also twice as thick of a radiator.

I would be very curious to see if anyone has done a side-by-side comparison of cooling performance between stock fans and aftermarket fans. I would be incredibly surprised to see if there was even a 1*C average difference in CPU temps, and for $50 fan investment, thats a very very small gain.

I agree its more then likely a small gain if any, and the noise is not that bad, but they do look ugly unless your case some how matches it. and the noctua fans, well there not so pretty them self,  so personally i wouldn't spend the money.

I would spend the money on some nice looking corsair SP fan though but mainly for ascetics and that's all. Puls there half the price.

I purchased Noctia fans 1 time thinking they might match my tan system but the tanish color on them is almost a gross pink and matches nothing.

The FZ series from NZXT is great. I have one of the 140mm red LED fans and it's stellar.

I got some of Noctua's 1200rpm Grey redux fans for my h110, Much quieter at lower speeds and the move just as much air, temps didn't change much. I found mine for $13 a piece which made them a steal. Asides from the colour I don't know why anyone would buy the Industrial fans or recommend the industrials at almost twice the list price of the Redux fans and much louder when typically the reason to ditch the H110 fans is to reduce noise. The special features (higher RPM, water-proofing, better motors, etc) are just not required for simple RAD fans.

There are other fans out there though and at the end of day they are all very similar in noise and airflow.
