Should I buy a decent 27" 4K monitor, or a full HD or 2K 31" monitor.

I use my PC Mainly for gaming, and I know there aren't many 4K games out yet, but is it worth to invest?

I got around 450$ to spend, and play some FPS games and LoL and DotA 2.

What are your pc specs? For lol and dota definitely 4k imo.

Pretty much every recent game has 4k support to my knowledge, and 31" 1920x1080 probably looks disgusting at regular monitor viewing distances. 

You should probably go 4k 27-28" (4k is awesome!).

theres no point in getting a 31" monitor unless you really need it for work/video editing etc. 1440x2560 (2k) looks amazing if you get a good monitor so this will probably be the better option as a 4k monitor would be over $120 more at the least

If you're getting the GTX 970 you'll be able to run those games fairly well in 4k.

So I would go for the 4k monitor.

I'm no expert but my opinion is that it may be nice to invest in a 4k monitor. Even though there arent many games out yet that are 4k compatible, you will have a 4k monitor when the time comes. Plus, I just received an email yesterday about this deal. Its only 50$ over your budget and a slightly larger screen. Linus also has a review on the monitor on the LinusTechTips YouTube channel.

your current gpu doesn't support 4k resolutions. However if you upgrade to a 970 definitely go 4k.

I have a 4k monitor, I still haven't encountered a game that didn't run at that resolution save extremely old games with no resolution options.
