Can anyone  help me find the original Windows 8 lockscreen wallpaper-on the web or where it's located in windows.

Its still there, Go to the charms bar and go to settings > Change PC settings >Personalize and then find the desired wallpaper then set it as your lock screen

Hmmm, I wasn't very clear. It's currently my lock screen wallpaper, however it's actually not an option to be selected, probably because it's just synced over. What I would like to do is to keep a backup copy of it. However, no amount of googling has brought me the wallpaper.

Have you tried accessing the folder? I believe this is the right way to get to it:
