Hey guys i needed some help with upgrading my ram. i bought a package and got some low end ram i believe i want to upgrade it to this: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vengeance-16gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmz16gx3m2a1866c10r ram. i currently have http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313419. can i just stack up my ram. BTW i have a asus  M5A97 LE R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS mother board. Please help!!!!!!

You'll be fine with the RAM you already have man. RAM doesn't really effect gaming performance unless you keep 30 tabs of chrome open at a time.

That is a single stick of 8GB of ram and will most likely cause the board to run in single channel mode.

 

Also that Corsair ram lists at 172 for 1866 CL10 which is overpriced.

 

Here is some G. Skill Trident X 2400 CL10 that is worlds better and cheaper at 159:

G.Skill ram is also known to work really well on FX CPUs.

 

Chances are you wont get to 2400 CL10 but you should be able to run them at 1866 CL8 at 1.5V without a problem.
