Good, but I would go with a 650watt EVGA PSU instead as well as the h100i instead.

h100i has issues with windows 8 and why does everyone say to go with an evga psu n not corsair?

That's only if you use the software doe, I like the LED on it :3. He could go with Corsair, although preferably not the RM series, I've only heard bad stuff about them

Cool, the 4690k is about as good as it gets for gaming, the 4790k is for people who want to push a bit more with rendering and stuff like that. And yeah, there's a wattage calculator on pcpartpicker if you need assurance, I think it's at the top right hand side. :)

Well I would say 4790k, no bottleneck, not so sure bout the 4690k.

Also, as you pointed out, the h100i DOES have some probs with windows 8 and it is not fixed in 10. (I am using it).

Controlling speed with 3rd party is almost impossible

is it really worth possibly going to a 4790k or nah?

It depends, do you do any CPU intensive stuff? Eg. Video editing

Here's what i would recommend. SLI 970's are overkill for the monitor you picked. A Single 980 is overkill as well, but if FPS (144hz monitor) is what you want, then you'll definitely get it. Plus you're only $200 over-budget if you decide you want SLI 980's

I ended up picking a motherboard with onboard Wireless AC. Cost a bit more, but still less than the 100$ adapter you'd have hogging your PCI-e lanes. You wanna save those for SLI.

i have very crappy wifi in my house so i hope the onboard wifi doesnt suck. also i plan on doing a multi display set up later on but i mean with a 980 im paying about twice as much for only 10% more performance.

Man I'm saying that you don't need an SLI config, a 980 or even a single 970 is more than enough for your needs. The 980 gives better value here

you're getting a bit more than 10%, don't forget you're going to overclock the card.

I game @ 5760x1080 on my 780TI, and I don't have any issues getting 60FPS+ at that resolution. Most everything is at High/Ultra. Matter of fact the only game I've really had trouble with was crysis 3, it just wasn't playable for me at any setting at that high of a resolution.

I had SLI 670's and finally had enough of them, sold them and got my beasty 780TI. Your second card can't even be utilized unless the game has an SLI profile from nvidia. Without a profile the game runs like poop. Plus there was micro stuttering. Plus I could only populate one other PCI-e lane or the cards would fall out of SLI due to lane restrictions on the CPU.

The whole thing was a headache and really put me off towards the whole idea of SLI. Don't get me wrong, SLI has its place and usefulness, but only at the really high end where you just can't get the kind of performance you need. In every scenario you will be better off buying a single more powerful card over 2 weaker cards.
