Crazy Setup Plan

Hey guys, im looking to build this crazy setup i have in mind, I have found a 6 monitor stand and I'm wondering if you think this will work off two GTX 980s, I plan to game either off the single 21 x 9 or the triple 16 x 9s.

Could you guys recomend any improvements or suggest a 19" 4:3 monitor i could go with that the bezels are not too wide.

2 980s are great for 3 screens. (1080p)

 

anyway, drop the 4:3 and just get the 4 monitors

- You can only use certain display outputs on certain cards. There's a page on NVidia that details the setup process and what can/cannot be used

 

2. If not Surround:

- You can only use the master card for display outputs

 

Surround and Non Surround is not a very seamless transition - and add #1 to the mix, you possibly would also have to be swapping display connections. You ask yourself if it's worth the trouble (doubt it)

So even if I have 2 980s I can't use 6 monitors? I thought each could have up to 4. If not, could I not use multi monitor display port adapters?

no nvidia doesn't support DP hubs if that's what you're asking

ah okay, fair enough, I was mistaken, I thought it was standard in display port 1.2.
