I was going to interject by saying that I had lived through the early launch days of Windows XP, and as you said, it was a complete nightmare. I vividly remember IT teams (and my father, who is an electrical engineering doctor) spending weeks in DOS mode trying to get the operating system to function in respect to the basic drivers. I did not have any fun with it until about late 2003 or so. Meanwhile I had a prebuilt from some time back that has Vista SP1 installed, and I did not have many issues with it.

 

I also want to know which knucklehead in Microsoft though Luna was an appealing UI theme.

 

Read the community standards; it's like a guide on how to not be a moron.
