GPU Block before or after the backplate.

So I have a gtx 970 water block and a backplate coming tomorrow, so I was wondering if you install the gpu first or if you install them both at the same time?

Block first, backplate goes on afterwards.

I'm confused though do the screws go in from the backplate in because on the stock backplate it is reversed?

Some waterblock have you install them at the same time, as the block screws through the card into the backplate.
you put on the waterblock, put the screws through, turn in upside down and then lay the backplate onto it and fasten everything

most blocks i have seen involve attaching the gpu to the block and then using the backplate to screw them together

I know with the EKs you install the waterblock first
