my uncles birthday is soon and he said he could do with a new printer, he only ever prints black and white because he is an writer, he dosent print often but when he does its alot of pages (sometime 100 pages in one go) so i decided he could do with a laser printer since its cheaper than buying more ink  (like his epson which cost alot each time)

i have picked out 2 printers but need abit of help deciding,

Brother HLL2300D - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brother-HL-L2300D-Mono-Laser-Printer/dp/B00LUH8UJ0/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1421684925&sr=8-10&keywords=monochrome+laser+printer#productDetails

 HP P1102w- http://www.amazon.co.uk/HP-P1102w-18ppm-LaserJet-Printer/dp/B007UNCMJ2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421685195&sr=8-1&keywords=hp+laser

I need it to be reliable but low cost as he wont use it often.

My father owns a small company and used a similar Brother printer before he switched to a LaserJet that could do colors.

As with all printers, the cartridges are a bit expensive but they last a long time.

PS. The Brother is a two year newer model than that HP. But that probably don't matter too much with printers.

Edit: I looked up cartridge prices. The Brother is much cheaper in that department.

Looking at original parts; Brother <60 pounds for a cartridge good for 2,600 pages.

While HP costs 66 pounds for a cartridge good for 1,600 pages.
