I would think Task Manager would be more accurate.

I would assume task manager.

That's what I would think, but running a single threaded cinebench test, task manager doesn't show 1 core pegged at 100% and the rest at near idle, it uses all 4 cores instead, according to taskman.

task manager is inaccurate

you need to use other programs to measure the CPU usage

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Im going to assume its because of a cpu task balancing that's going on. The graphs should not peak with just one task.

EDIT: I can repeat what you have done with prime 95.

Java tuts:

Constructors, possibly more to come.

221 Goodbye.

Hmmm, interesting, happens to me too with p95. So Windows 8 is capable of taking a single threaded task and spreading it across all cores? I don't recall windows 7 having that behavior and I'm too lazy to install windows 7 to test this lol

I don't think its a 7 v 8 thing, Its a Intel technology i believe, I would have to do more research to figure out whats happening exactly. Amd made a huge push for heterogeneous architecture, wouldn't be surprised if intel followed or was the leader in that movement.
