I've got an old PC lying around taken apart from parts, and I thought it'd be a good opportunity for my mate to have it, slap in his own GPU and join us in PC multilayer games (trying to convert a console nazi).

It's got around 8GB RAM, Intel Core2Quad @ 2.83GHz and just all over some pretty average stuff - I thing it came with an ATI 4390 or something...

I'm looking to recommend a good GPU for around $100, which will be able to pump out a decent experience.

I suggested the 750ti, however the case is small form-factor mATX so I'm unsure of the size compatibility.

He only needs to push 720p, but he could be hooking up to his 1080p TV as well - so I'd like to recommend something that will perform, for fear of him ditching it and getting an XBO.

The size needs to fit mATX, small form factor case

Be about $100

Perform well at 1080p, excellently at 720p

Probably looking at R7 260, GTX 750 TI, or R9 270. 260 and 750TI are realitively small cards, and should fit most form factors. 270 is a bigger card, depending on the brand you buy it.

Ah I see, I thought there was a $100 280x deal somewhere, would have returned my 150$ 270 in a blink.

750Ti's come in SFX cooler designs, most of them are.

270x would probably be a smarter option for the small bit of extra money.

This is over budget, but this is the best small form factor card out there with a low profile bracket
