Can't access UEFI/BIOS

Go to solution Solved by MonkeyDsora,

I've just been trying to change some setting in the 'BIOS Features' tab and found that if I enabled 'Onboard LAN Boot Option Control', everything seems to work normally. Mashing the delete button and using the 'UEFI Firmware Settings' option in Windows 8 both seem to work.

Hi there,

I built my first system last summer and haven't had any problems yet, but lately I've been wanting to access the BIOS more often to try changing some settings. However it seems I can't access it in any convenient manner no matter what I try. I have a Gigabyte Z87-HD3 motherboard, the installed BIOS is apparently version F7. I've tried all the button mashing on my keyboard and the UEFI Firmware settings option from Windows 8.1 (64-bit) itself, but nothing short of disconnecting my boot drive will take me to the UEFI screen. Anyone know what to do about this?

If any additional info is required, please tell me so and I'll try to provide it as fast as I can.

Thanks in advance :)

Is it because you can't click it fast enough or it's not the correct button?

I've tried every possible button that's reported to open the UEFI, but it doesn't seem to work. I do notice that as the dots begin to circle, the lights on my keyboard go out, so it could be it won't even take any commands during this time. But even so, using the UEFI firmware settings option, should take me directly to the bios, but it doesn't.
