I'm building a new rig, that will be

INTEL CORE I7-4790K 4.00GHZ LGA1150 - BOX
CORSAIR CMD16GX3M2A2400C11 DOMINATOR PLATINUM 16GB (2X8GB) DDR3 2400MHZ DUAL CHANNEL KIT
SAMSUNG MZ-7TE250BW 840 EVO SERIES SSD 250GB 2.5'' SATA3
ASUS MAXIMUS VII FORMULA RETAIL WATCH DOGS BUNDLE
WESTERN DIGITAL WD20EZRX 2TB CAVIAR GREEN SATA3
EVGA SUPERNOVA 1000 G2 POWER SUPPLY 1000W
CORSAIR OBSIDIAN SERIES 900D BLACK

For fans ill be using CORSAIR AIR SERIES AF120 QUIET EDITION HIGH AIRFLOW 120MM FAN

So my watercooling shopping list so far is

1) XSPC RayStorm
2) Masterkleer tubing PVC Clear
3) Alphacool 16/10 compression fitting
4) Alphacool 16/10 compression fitting 90° revolvable
5) Alphacool 16/10 compression fitting 45° revolvable
6) Phobya 2 valve for draining the loop
7) Phobya Balancer 250 black matte <- I am not sure about that one...it might look small into 900D...maybe i shall go for the Balancer 450?
8) Koolance Laing D5 top
9) Alphacool VPP655PWM - Single Edition
10) Aquacomputer Shoggy Sandwich building kit for pump
11) Alphacool NexXxoS XT45 Full Copper 360mm <- will be placing that rad on top
12) Phobya G-Changer 480 V.2 - Full Copper <-That rad will go in the bottom place

What do you guys think?

I am a bit biased about the Alphacool fittings, but sadly, aquatuning doesnt have anything else (they have their own, the aquatuning fittings)

welocme to the Linus Tech Tips forums!

kinda overkill for a CPU only loop (no GPUs listed).

if using the koolance D5 top, use their 80mm reservoir tube for meaty appearance.

i'd try and stay on one rad mannie as the alphacool ut60 360/480 in the roof and

the UT60 in the basement (assuming you are going to SLI/CFX your GPUs).

but you will find that the 900D will dwarf anything you install in the case.

Hey there!

I'm planning on doing a more silent build. Will have 2 rads, with lower RPM fans. Wouldn't a UT60 feel too fat on the roof? (i didnt get the UT60 and went with the Phobya because its out of stock at aquatuning and i live in Europe)

What do you think about the fittings though? I read that they are so-so (the alphacool ones)

edit:

added those on the shopping list too then

do i need a  Koolance Reservoir Coupler Male (80mm OD)? What are those for?

yes, the UT60 will fit fine with a single set of fans.

here is the koolance top and 80mm diameter reservoir (200mm tall):

alphacool fittings are good, but not bitspower fittings (great). but if that is your

only access, then it is alphacool fittings.
