Network constantly disconnecting for a few seconds

Hey guys,

my internet keeps cutting out. I get the 2kgnfHz.png for 3-5 seconds, then its back. But it does it ALL. THE. TIME. and it is annoying as f*ck.

It happens once every 10-20 seconds, then it stops happening for a few days, then its back. Today its really bad.

I've already contacted my ISP and they say its not the connection to my house, so it must be either the router or my PC.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? Router firmware and networking drivers are up to date.

Already did that, didn't help, sadly.

Very strange, have you installed any new programs recently? Try running Anti Virus, something might have creeped its way onto your computer and decided to start messing with it.

I've ran both Avast and Malwarebytes several times with no results. This issue has been coming and going for several months now, so I wouldn't be able to point at any specific software that started the issue.

maybe hardware problem

1. try a different port on your router

2. check if other systems have the same problem

if your router is fine, then I'm guessing your system's NIC is broken

Yes I have tried different ports, but that doesn't prove that the router is fine. I had issues restarting it the other day, it wouldn't start up to the point where I could access it and I had to try 3 times before it came back online. As for the NIC, do you know any way of diagnosing problems with it? I'm not willing to buy a brand new motherboard just to find out my NIC was fine

you can try a usb/pci to ethernet adapter. For example: http://www.ncix.com/detail/linksys-usb3gig-usb-3-0-to-eb-98983-1261.htm

but unfortunately there is no way to know for sure if NIC is the problem, so you might be wasting money.
