2nd, but please, for the love of god, get the G3258 and the Z97 PC Mate board, APUs are crap when it comes to gaming

Problem with that is i need a quad core, and want overclock,

Why would you want a Quad Core?

Pentium G3258 CAN overclock by the way.

I know the pentium can over clock

I've been told that i need a quad core as i'm gaming for things like watchdogs

this was the build i was told to do first

Problem with that is i need a quad core, and want overclock,

1. G3258 is overclockable

2. G3258's gaming performance is even better than the FX 6300, which is a 6-core, let alone APU

3. G3258 has lesser TDP, so heat will definitely not an issue compare to AMD

In short, if you game, get intel, quadcore from AMD is just a gimmick, don't fall for it

Light gaming don't need quad core, they need a strong, single core, not 4 weak cores

Also, please don't put your faith in system requirement all the time, some of them are full of shit anyway

That's actually a fairly solid budget build you've made. But why don't we get something clear.

What's your actual budget atm?

1. If you want MATX go for G3258 and H81 chipset

2. A G3258 and 270 will put you to near max setting with light AA on L4D2, not quite sure about WD though, it runs like crap on AMD gpu

3. It will be better to get MATX instead of ITX for better airflow in the case so I'd recommend it, case depends on your preferance, but try not to overspend on it

Yes, build it and I'll check

I have seen many people OCing their G3258 using H81 at 4.5 GHz, even in our forums, Z97 more expensive but provides better oc limit though

Will i be able to update to something like an I5 later with the H81? Also what Brand i've looked on PC part Picker and they have some H81 for like £90 but i know this prbably wont be good enough so what do i choose?

See this would have been my go to

Technically you can upgrade up to an i7

Look for Asus, MSI, some of their H81 boards are quite cheap, if you loosen your budget more you can even look for Asrock H97M Pro as they are dirt cheap and supports AMD crossfire

I'd like to do watercooling with the H60/H80i is it worth it? and would you suggest a better case?

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/bRpDK8

If i had used a minit itx now i would have used the stacker 915F because i could add a 915R for watercooled or 935 for a big upgrade

It's not worth doing watercooling on a budget build, that air cooler is good and will do just fine

Also, I see that you choose a 200R, spend on a cheap Z97 like MSI PC Mate would be better because it allows for upcoming cou upgrade should you need

Also I'd hold my wallet for the GPU for now, GTX960's release is around the corner, and they will pretty much has the same price as the 760, if you can stretch your budget, though

Would you chose that case?

And this is the current build,

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/Vv8Pcf

I would prefer nvidia as i will be playing steam and steam os is a maybe (got it installed on a 2.5 500gb external drive from a friend who put a ssd in to replace it)

currently it comes it at £455, so if we stick to the 200r we could have £165 - £200 on gpu what would you suggest?

That's the case I'm using and I highly recommend it, feels sturdy with the steel chassis and whole lot of room for air flow and cable management

I suggest the GTX960 for that price range, of course when it is released

he got these results

sorry about the solved hit the wrong button :(

Simple, his cpu is bottlenecking

His is not over clocked though so that will make a difference,

What overclock can i expect with the 212 evo, or is there a better option, i'd like 4ghz+

I've looked on 3x systems they use a asus h81 board, however think i'll stick with the msi z97 so i can add an i5 4670k later if i so wish

Aso quick question if i streched my budget for a quad core would a i5 4440 be better than g3258? or is the 4690k the best next step up? or is the appropriate i3?
