Hey guys and thanks for clicking.

Thought you might want to help a noob out. Planning on making my first PC and I have this on my mind:

ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z Motherboard - http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=138_803&products_id=21393

AMD FX-9370 8 Core Black Edition CPU - http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=187_1512&products_id=25295

EVGA GeForce GTX970 Superclocked ACX 2.0 (4GB) - http://www.pccasegear.com/index.phpmain_page=product_info&cPath=193_1692&products_id=29313

Just curious for any bottlenecks, or if the hardware even works together. I'm happy with the price and everything, just need an informed advice :)

Please and thank yous

DO NOT BUY THAT CPU! It is an absolute waste of money on a dead platform and will likely bottleneck the 970. Your CPU/Mobo combo comes down to about 700$. For that money you could get a i5 or i7 with a good Z97 Mobo that will outperform that CPU by leaps and bounds and wont catch on fire in the process.

With a budget like that intel would be a much faster, and better, (and probably cheaper) option, as the other users will tell you.

You really shouldn't be running AMD unless you are doing some pretty heavy duty editing, Intel is probably the better option here if you are doing gaming. Also, I would recommend getting an Asus Maximus VII Hero with an i7 4770k. Sorta offtopic, but EVGA 970 SSC is much better than SC.

My Build: 4690k @ 4.7 GHz, ASUS Strix 970 @ 1316 MHz, H105, Corsair Vengeance Pro @ 1600 MHz, H440, RM750

The way I see it is they're all 970s, they're all kickass, but some people have their preferences I guess. I like the MSI twin frozr.

Like the others said do not but that CPU. Its a really bad CPU compared to the competition. If you are only gaming get an unlocked i5 and a z97 board. If you are going to be doing a lot of editing and streaming get an i7. In terms of the GPU I would get either the new evga ssc (has a modified PCB and better power delivery) or the gigabyte g1 gaming.

The 970 series is all comparible with not too major of a diference between worst and best, unlike the 290 series; however, if you get gigabyte, buy the g1 not the windforce as it tends to sag due to lesser build quality.

As the rest have said, go intel, K series if overclocking, otherwise same models minus the k. I5 4690k, or i7 4790k if mostly for gaming. Heard that the 4770k is more limited to oc due to temps, and both tiger direct and microcenter have the 4790k on sale beyond reg online prices.

Still new, but learning

Thanks for the really quick feedback.

Say if I was going to do a quick swap of the MB and CPU to something like this:

ASUS Z97 A Motherboard - http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=138_1491&products_id=27537

Intel Core i7 4790 - http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=187_1490&products_id=27562

Would this seem better?

If you're not getting a k series chip, get an h97 board, unless you're doing it for the sli/crossfire

Swap out the i7 4790 for i7 4790k. Would that be better-er?

......like I said guys, noob here. I'm trying >.<

The 4790k with that motherboard would be a kickass setup.

Sweet as. Worth the extra $ for the K :) Thanks a lot guys <3

No problem, we all love helping. Just avoid the fx series except for super budget video editing. Dont even touch a 9series fx, freaking valcanos.
