RAID 0

Go to solution Solved by Hoppa,

Yes I'd say it's worth the risk, as long as you backup your data somewhere else.

The drives themselves won't fail quicker when in raid 0, but as you may know, if 1 of them fails then you loose all your data across both drives.

For me, I'm in a position where I wouldn't lose much data if one of my drives would fail (currently have a raid 0 array)

Hi, I was watching a few informational videos about RAID and I'm new to understand how it works. So like the understand for me is that RAID 0 gives better performance but has a slight risk involved for splitting the data between two drives. So my question is, is the performance in RAID 0 worth it for the risk?

Well, really what it means is, don't store precious files primarily on that drive, have a backup drive in case the raid array fails
