R9 270x water block

Go to solution Solved by airdeano,

Hello,

Greetings,

I want to buy a water block for my saphire R9 270x,I know the pcb is different but I guess it will fit.So I searched for a reference card model but I couldn't find it,please help guys.

Thank you.

alphacool has started a new line for GPU waterblocks. a take off from the

universal GPU blocks and have seemed to make it available for the lower tiered

cards as well. here is a link available in the states: http://www.performance-pcs.com/alphacool-nexxxos-gpx-ati-r9-270x-m01-with-backplate-black.html

TTL has done a video on this and seems to give it a thumbs up

I'd recommend putting that money towards a better gpu rather than cooling a low-mid tier one.

Also, I thought the Sapphire 270x uses a reference pcb.

I think there are no waterblocks for that card.

Nothing from EK for the Sapphire 270X (Dual-X, Toxic or Vapor-X)

Also keep in mind that I want the water block to cover all of the GPU including the VRAM.

full blocks are pretty much not going to happen for the lower tiered cards. even

in the olden days manufacturers just could not see the recoup value on tooling,

development and distribution of such. and with the plethora of different PCBs

associated, the performance advantage that was found/not found, the

profitability was low or non-existent. alphacool is using the same idea of

universal and adding a cooling solution that in all purposes works as well or

better than the employed air coolers.

swiftech already started this with their line-up, but didn't inject enough heatsink

SKU's to make it advantageous to more makes and models. hopefully another

option than the NZXT/Corsair adapter bracket kits.

Also keep in mind that I want the water block to cover all of the GPU including the VRAM.

if you follow the video TTL did, it actually does cover the VRAM. the heatsink

grabs air as well as the waterblock is attached and TIM coated to supply

another cooling chance.
