At home wireless storage?

Hopefully I posted this in the right forum! So I am currently doing bookkeeping for my mom and my brother. We all live together and I was curious how would I set up a "cloud storage" over the wireless for my personal PC? I would like them to be able to simply store their QuickBooks files there so I don't have to use their PCs to do so. Sort of like a dropbox but real time access I guess you can call it. It would be only on one hard drive. I don't need them to have access to all 4 of my drives.

A NAS just stands for network attached storage,

 

Basically, its a box that connects to the network with a hard drive inside, all computers on the network see the hard drive as if it was installed inside them, 

 

(a bit like if you had the same drive connected to multiple computers with USB)

 

You can get a cheap WD Cloud, get a dirt cheap empty NAS of the internet which you install a desktop 3.5" drive into, you can get expensive multi bay nas networks or you can build a server

 

If all you want to do, is share data between computers a cheap nas enclosure + drive, or basic off the shelf network drive will do

it even lets you access it over the internet - if you want security you can get a NAS which supports multiple drives meaning you can have mirror images inside (so for example 2  x 2tb hard drives, one holds the data, the other is a second copy in case it breaks)

I second the above. A NAS is a great investment and the easiest and cleanest solution in my opinion.
