Compared to 1440p/4k not at all, but it's decent if you're not comparing side to side.

The highest I would personally go with 1080p is 24"

This! I would rather get a U2414H and have nice colors and a matching resolution for the panel. It depends how far away you sit from your monitor though.

IMO I would not go higher than 24'' with 1080p because anything bigger requires high levels of AA.

Damn you kids are spoiled.

1080p 27" is good. Same pixel density as the 55" 4k TVs out there.

Desktop is just more comfortable to use. And in games you can use all kinds of software crap to smooth out lines and stuff.

1080p 24" and 27" is the same shelf...  when 4k 28" monitors are available in mass THATS WHEN we will get an ACTUAL resolution upgrade.

I use a 27" 1080p monitor. Unless you sit unusually close to it I don't think it looks too pixelly. I sit about an arms length away. But hey that's just my personal opinion. Also ever since I upgraded I have had problems getting a high enough FOV in many games, so that's also another consideration when it comes to 24" vs 27". For example in Skyrim I always play at 105 FOV.

If you're a grandparent who has quite bad vision you might go with a 27" 1080p display. Just sayin'. ;)

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.
