Motherboard and cpu help

I am wondering if I should go with x99 or z97. I'm planing on doing streaming and making and editing youtube videos. So I am not sure if I should go with the 4790k or 5820k. If I go with the x99 platform I will will get the msi x99s gaming 9 ack and if I go z97 I will get the asus formula vii. However because of my budget i can only get the x99 mobo and cpu where if I go with z97 I can get mobo, cpu, ram, and psu. So if anyone could help me choose wether I should go x99 or z97 thanks so much

Well you say that you can't buy the whole PC if you go X99 so that only leaves you with Z97, I guess. Having said that, Linus did a video recently on how many cores you need and included streaming and gaming in that.

A 5820k will be significantly better for streaming and video editing, so I would get that.

any way you could list your current parts, budget for upgrades and location?

an i7-4790k is a very strong cpu that can easily stream the most demanding games while uploading to youtube at the same time...and the rendering times for hd videos are more than acceptable imho its plenty even for a power user.
