Stuff stops working

Sometimes I take out my usb headset to use the speakers. But when I turn off the speakers and plug the headset back in the mouse and the keyboard stop working. It has never happened before and has happened only 3 times. I had to either hard reset or turn off my computer with the button. Has anyone been affected before by this?

Sometimes USB controllers can be finicky, or when you are pligging them in, it shorts the system killing power to the ports. 

 

Just disable the headset in your audio mixer and set the main speakers to default and vise versa. 

 

(Right click sound icon > playback devices > right click what you want to enable/disable from the list)
