Will SATA Power (male) to Molex (female) work for powering something?

äh, yes. They all just deliver 5 and 12 Volts.

So I've got a modular psu and no need for a molex connector until now, but I'd rather not plug in a whole Molex cable just for one molex connection if I don't have to, and I have a SATA to Molex connector just laying around (I think, I'll have to check when I get off work) but I wanted to know if that would work fine for powering it? It's an nzxt iu01 (I think it only has 1 of the 4 molex plugs in it actually, it doesn't seem to require much power.

Thanks LTT, I am always learning and running into new (to me) weird situations haha.

SATA power also does 3.3 volts

most drives don't care about the 3,3 volts.

Indeed. It just gives you a way to derive 9v from the power supply. But yeah, many power supplies don't even have the 3.3v wire because it isn't even in the spec nowadays.

idk, it wasn't even relevant :D

Compatible with Windows 95
