Guys i have Kingston Beast 1600mhz CL9 (11-11-11-28) XMP http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KHX16C9T3K2_8X.pdf 2x4bg and my gigabyte board is reading them at 1600mhz with xmp disabled. I wanted to ask if i enable XMP or dial the timings manually (9-9-9-27) will i gain something?like fps increase? Btw i use my pc just for gaming. Thank you in advance guys

The only time youd really see any kind of FPS increase when playing with your ram timings/frequency is if youre using onboard graphics (since they use system RAM) But with a discrete card, you will notice NO difference at all. Keep it at stock timing/speeds for best stability.

When in doubt, re-format.

Just enable the XMP profile.
You should be able to see an +/-2 fps increase.

+ you should OC with XMP profile enabled.

Thank you very much for the response guys, i really appreciate it. So its OK to leave at these timings and not to enable xmp since 2 fps is just meh :) btw im a bit scared to enable that damn XMP since i have read that many people had issues with system stability (probably most of them were using some shitty ram sticks). Btw how is it possible for my mobo to read the ram at 1600mhz (without xmp enabled) since i saw that by default it should be 1333mhz for haswell. And one more thing do you guys suggest (keep in mind i have never done overclocking) that i should try Gigabyte Easy Tune-auto tunning? Sorry for my noob questions dudes but i cannot seem to optimize planetside 2 to have steady 60fps and i can play assasins creed unity and advance warfare on ultra+multisampling on 2. It keeps bugging me with this damn planetside and i really like this game.

Thank you guys

There is no noob questions... the ones not asking are the noobs

Support for DDR3 3000(O.C.) / 2933(O.C.) / 2800(O.C.) / 2666(O.C.) / 2600(O.C.) / 2500(O.C.) / 2400(O.C.) / 2200(O.C.) / 2133(O.C.) / 2000(O.C.) / 1866(O.C.) / 1800(O.C.) / 1600 / 1333 MHz memory modules, thats what your mobo supports.. 1600 without OC, for overclocking, in my opinion the best wayto ocevrclock is in your bios... probably more stable etc, although you can use programs for it.. but... no idea how stable that would be, remember to keep an eye on temps when overclocking, check on the forums how to overclock.. its all explained :)

enable XMP profile 1 and call it a day memory speed won't likely affect performance 99% of the time anyways.

Thank you very much guys for the answers :) so to summarize enabling xmp will give me no fps increase in planetside 2 :) it will just set the timings and the voltage to its rated kingston speed and thats it :)

Thank you again guys, you helped me a lot

If you;re aiming to get better FPS in PS2, you need to overclock your CPU.

if you enable XMP profile your RAM will run at it's rated speed and values and you will get good performance, that's all there is to know.
