Can someone tell me if this build would be able to handle games like DayZ, Battlefield 4, Minecraft etc... in ultra graphics on a triple monitor surround setup at around about 60fps? Thanks The Build:

Why does then PCpartPicker link estimate 506W?

Dont know, but yesterday here on LTT I was in a similar thread and someone else was asking for a PSU for a similar setup - 4790K + two 970s and got recommended a 850-860PSU so I based it off that :) I have the same setup (4790K and two 970s incoming) and a 850W psu, so.. yeah :) just my .02

On top of that, 500W is Minimum for one 970, at least thats what it says on EVGA store I was looking at just now

It should, but you certainly need at least a 850W PSU for 2-way SLI GTX970s:)

750W would also be fine, IMO.

Why does then PCpartPicker link estimate 506W?

Because that is the max that the stock configuration will draw. As soon as one starts to overclock, especially the gpu, power requirements climb. One must also provide a small allowance for psu component degradation as the unit gets older. Finally, some extra capacity should be allowed for upgrades.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
