I bought a R9 290 and got some free games as a bonus. One option is instead of a game, I could choose a Star Citizen Omega Variant Racer by Accelerated Mass Design. I have no experience or idea what this is. I basically get the gist of Star Citizen but have no idea what the playable status of this game is. Any suggestions?

Right now, there is the hangar module in which you can walk around in you hangar and view your ships and sit in them. Additionally, there is Arena Commander, the dogfighting module where you can, as of the recent 1.0 update, fly with every single seater ship. Might you opt to go with the Omega, which is a racer ship, you can also fly in that.

The Omega doesn't hold up very well in combat, but it is fast.

Good luck with your decision!

Personally the omega is a good starting point though you get a basic starter ship with more powerful engines, my personal feelings are what the lack in strength they gain in speed and at the current moment speed is the favored winner in game

The Omega's fast so it'll be good for racing (which you can currently do) but while I haven't taken it out dogfighting I got the distinct impression in free flight mode it wouldn't be able to hold its own in a dog fight, in saying that it could be really good as a runner in capture the core.

Bare in mind you have a few cheap options with that, you can use a ship "upgrade" to turn it into a gamma for free and from there you have several cross chassis upgrade options like turning it into a avenger for $5 from the avenger you can go to the 315p for another $5 then either a 325a or hornet, from the 325a you can get to a cutlass and with the hornet or cutlass you can go to any of their respective variants at various price points of course. Those are the options at the moment but they did say they hope to have upgrade paths to every ship eventually.

That bundle gives you the full multiplayer (persistent universe) and single player (squadron 42) game when its out too.

Omega is still great for combat especially with the extra speed. All you need to do is outfit it with some better weaponry.

Can some1 confirm this? If i get the AMD bundle ship i can for 10$ upgrade to the same package as if i bought the 315p which is a 75$ ship? Is that a time limited offer?

Can confirm, Cross Chassis Upgrades are entirely possible as described above.

Don't know until when the Omega codes are redeemable.

Its not limited, they "hope" to have upgrade paths to everything eventually, its just a way of getting something else if what you got isn't really what you wanted or if something you want more comes out down the line. I've done it myself :)

The ship package still retains its value of $0 though if you want to exchange it for store credits, you will only get your upgrades value back.

This is really good news. I want the 315p really bad and 75$ is somewhat too much. Thanks to both of you.

Do you guys know by memory if they support paysafecard? Google says no but those posts are old.
