Yes it will work. I'm running three sticks and it's in dual channel. No, it doesn't need to be the same specs per se.

so i have dual channel running right now (8gb) can i buy another 1 stick of 4gb and put it in and work? if so does it need to be the same specs?

oh what about timing of the ram? my ram right now is 9 and the one im thinking to buy is 10 will that be ok?

so my 9 will go to 10? and does it affect gaming in any form? (i dont think so but asking to make sure)
