Worth it?

Okay so first off i am not a big fan of Razer. They are having a %50 off deal tomorrow and I need a new keyboard. Would getting the Razer Blackwidow Chroma be worth it half off? so around 80$. I would like a K70 but it's too expensive imo.

 

Please let me know if it would be worth it and why or why not :)

The fact that the key-switchs in that keyboard aren't Cherry. I wouldn't touch them.

I actually wouldn't mind picking up a cheap Deathstalker so I don't have to transport my keyboard from my house to my dorm and back constantly, but it doesn't look like they have them in stock.

If you absolutely can't afford a cherry MX board then I guess this would be the best opportunity you've got to snag an even cheaper mechanical keyboard.

Yeah go for it.

 

Those who hate on Razer usually have no idea what they're talking about. 

Unfortunately I know what I'm talking about....

You can look at their return rates and stuff like that if you want.

Is RGB something you really want? There aren't too many options for you unfortunately. There's the Logitech G910, although I'm not a fan of the keyboard for many reasons of my own.

The ones who blindly love it though are the ones I hate. Then again, I could say that for many a tech brand.

Yes definitely, script kitties and children alike who are attracted by bright colors and high prices!

I remember seeing a Razer fanboy on a YouTube video about a keyboard I was looking at (Cherry MX Green Quickfire TK) saying 'ERMAHGAHB IT HAZ GREEN ON IT RAZER KNOCKOFF CUNFIRMD" and just slapping my face... It hurt, both the guy who wouldn't acknowledge that green is not a patented-by-Razer color existing and the fact that I slapped my face xD

You think I will be able to resell the chroma on ebay or something like that easily? then buy a better keyboard with that money? That was my first intention but I also need a new keyboard so i'm lost :P

I suggest saving your money. Maybe buy a keyboard with a switch that you know you will like and just so happens to have your backlit color of choice.

 

try taking the quiz in the thread linked in my sig to see which key switch would be best for you. You may find out that the two options that the Blackwidow has wouldn't even be for you.

The Quickfire Ultimate is their highest end. And it's cheaper. Frequently out of stock however.
