Which one would be a better choice for gaming and future proofing your build, AMD FX 8350 or Intel 4670k? LGA1150 motherboards are much newer and with better features and the Haswell chips are new atleast, but AMD has an 8-core processor which could be better since games are starting to favor multiple cores/threads, and it's a bit cheaper. Please advice, this has been bothering me a while now.

Pure gaming wouldnt need all 8 cores though. I would still say that 4670 would be a better choice based on what you are doing

Hope this article would help you decide:

Mkay, so AMD has more cores but they are weaker cores that intels cores and yes they are clocked higher than intel but again, weaker. So AMD is great but the extra cores and Ghz mean close to nothing. Also gaming is not CPU intensive anymore so it actually wont make much of a difference greater than maybe at most 5fps. So purely for gaming go intel.

Now Haswell. I woudnt get haswell personally. It is having problems. All haswells arent even, or even close too each other in terms of well anything. Some are really hot others not so much some OC well others dont some have problems with RAM if you OC them. Its just a crap shoot with haswell and as i said before games arent CPU intensive anymore so you can get away with a 3570k and it will be fine and you can OC it rather well. Imo

Some people believe that the 4670K is the only option. If you are purely gaming I would recommend going with AMD in case you are on a budget. However the difference is minimal so if you're not limited by budget go with the i5 4670K.

Case: 650D CPU: i5 4670K GPU: GTX 770 Gaming @1306MHz Motherboard: MAXIMUS VI Hero PSU: AX760 CPU Cooler: H100i RAM: 8GB Vengeance Pro @1866MHz Storage: 840 250GB SSD / 2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.14

first link talks about privacy issues

If you watch it it right off the bat talks about the haswell ram problems. It starts around 4:20 btw.
