#1 Closed Loop Cooler?

I will be installing a i7-4790K into my new build, I have heard both good and bad about the Corsair H100i. 

 

Which cooler is better, and similar in price? I am having a hard time finding a good one.

I think the best is the Kraken X61, but don't quote me on that.

Absolute best is SwiftTech H240-X. 

 

Something more sensible is the Kraken X61. 

 

Although I know that the H100i is very loud, and not very good at cooling. Get something from NZXT, Noctua, Cooler Master or SwitfTech.

I use the H105 on my 5820K and I rarely go over 55C under load.

There is definitely better ones in the same 240mm form factor as the H100i. Look no further than the Cooler Master Nepton 240M. Great performance, excellent build quality, no software gimmicks, some of the best stock fans to be included with an AIO.

 

If you want to go up to 280mm, both the NZXT Kraken X61 and the Cooler Master Nepton 280L would be solid choices.

I think the only thing appealing about the corsair cooler is how cheap it is, and I guess that explains the review.

Im currently using a corsair h100i coming from an simple air cooler (mugen 2).

To be honest, im not that satisfied with it at the moment.

 

It started with the mounting system which jsut didnt work, i had to go to the hardware store and get about 10 rubber rings because the screws dont go in far enough (or my motherboard is to thin, but it was almost 1 centimeter of distance, no motherboard is that thick)

The corsair link software is plain awfull, it took me a couple of hours for the thing to recognize my h100i.

It forgets which color the light on the cooling block has to be every now and then and its quite noisy because of a really annoying rattling sound coming from the fans (i think) which are running at their lowest setting (900RPM), anything higher then that is completely unacceptable in terms of noise.

One advantage it has is that even in games like BF4 the temps dont really go over 45C (room temp arround 20C)

 

I dunno about the other AIO coolers, but for my h100i im definetly gonna get some good fans even replacing them means i have to disasemble my pc again.
