Windows 8.1 Pro File History problem

Go to solution Solved by MarzBarz,

Well, I figured it out. The only other way to really connect to an internal drive is to add a network location and point it to \\computername\partitionletter$

So a few weeks ago I was using the File History option to backup all my files. That included files which was on the same hard drive I was backing up to (lol)

But today I decided I would cut back on space, and exclude my games folder which took up a large portion of the backup. After waiting a bit, and seeing that it didn't actually delete any files, I went and deleted the file history backup and System Image backup in the Windows Explorer. After that, my File History read like this: http://prntscr.com/5qmmcb

So I decided to delete the partition, and re-create it as a new volume as the same driver letter, and the same name. (mind you, I did not click Quick Format as I was worried that it would delete everything on the hard drive, and that's where the mass amount of my data like all the libraries, my games, and the search index) Once that was completed, I tried to select a drive but it does not appear in the list. If I try and click Run Now only this error message appears: http://prntscr.com/5qmn6h

If I try and do a System Image Backup, it just gets stuck around 25%

Is there any actual way to fix this? Like re-formatting the partition to a different drive letter? Or is the only way to fix this properly is by formatting the entire hard drive?
