Bottleneck?

I was wondering if the FX 6300 would bottleneck the GTX 970. I'm just curious.

Probably, but you'd still get very good overall performance. An I5 would probably be required to get the most out of that card.

My FX-8350 is bottlenecking the R9 290 so yes a FX-6300 definitely will.

Depends on what resolution you play at, what game you're playing etc.  The more graphically demanding, the smaller the bottleneck.  

 

if you already have the FX 6300, you'll still get very good framerates from the 970. You'll get 90 FPS instead of 110 FPS, basically.
