Need recommendation on my first build

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

There are other Indian e-Commerce sites like flipkart and snapdeal which I'm using too.

Sorry for the late reply--the thread got buried under some tabs.

It could be cheaper. (Left from snapdeal; right from flipkart)

Hey guys! I'm posting here as I need some recommendations on my first gaming PC!

1. Budget & Location

I'm from India, and I'd like to spend 120,000 INR or its equivalent i.e 2000 USDs on my rig. And that is the maximum I'm stretching my budget upto.

2. Aim

To build a gaming PC! Like the ones that could give me  45 FPS on High settings in games like Shadow of Mordor or Far Cry 4

3. Monitors

A single 1080p monitor running at 60Hz

4. Peripherals

I need to buy a basic entry level Mouse and Keyboard combo, along with a monitor as mentioned above. No OS required.

This is what i intend to use

  • Intel i7 4790k processor
  • Zotac Nvidia GTX 970 GPU
  • ASUS Z97 Maximus VII Ranger Motherboard
  • Seagate Barracuda 2 TB HDD (7200 RPM)
  • 2 x Corsair Vengence 8 GB RAM (1600 MHz)
  • 4 x 120mm Cooler Master SickleFlow X LED fans
  • Corsair H80i Liquid Cooler for the CPU
  • Blu-Ray Burner Internal Optical Drive
  • PCI Wireless NIC
  • Dell S2240L 21.5 inch LED Backlit LCD Monitor
  • Cooler Master K281 Mid Tower cabinet
  • Corsair VS 650 PSU
  • Cooler Master Keybord & Mouse Devastator Combo

Feel free to inform as to what to change so as to get better performance without affecting the budget a lot. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance :) !

Are you only shopping from Amazon or are there other Indian shops that you prefer shopping from?

I7 overkill same for the Motherboard which is just a waste of money IMO. Get a i5-4690k and a cheaper Motherboard.

Edit: Better off with a 240mm rad CPU cooler or just get a noctua Fan cooler.

Which other motherboard do you suggest? Also Noctua fans are around 4 times costlier than that of a CM fan! :o

I meant a ND14 or so cooler for the CPU not fans for the case but okey.

You might want to consider the Asus Z97-A or z97-AR motherboard (whichever is less expensive). You may also want to see if the price of the Asus Z97-Pro(Wi-Fi ac) is less or near that of adding the WiFi adapter to some other motherboard choice.

If the system will be used mostly for gaming you could save a bit by going with an i5-4690K instead of the i7.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Overlocked cpu have no benefit by gaming than non-overclock cpu. But if you editing, rendering or livestreaming is the choose good. But only for gaming I should to choose non -k CPU and I5
