So I have been using Windows 10 tech preview 32-bit on my system, but I read on Intel that my processor can run a 64-bit os. So I installed the 64-bit version of Windows 10, and now when I try to get my graphics drivers with the Intel Driver Update Utility, it will download the 64-bit Iris driver, but when it goes to install it, I get an error. Also, when I go to the device manager, under display adapters there is no Intel HD graphics. It just says Microsoft basic display adapter.

System specs:
I3-4130

4gb Kingston HyperX

1TB HDD

Thanks

it will download the 64-bit Iris driver

I3-4130

i3-4130 doesn't have Iris graphics, just standard HD 4400.

Try this download, it seems to cover a broad spectrum of current-gen Intel graphics including 4400 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24348〈=eng&ProdId=3719

When I do the driver update utility, the Iris is the one it pulls up. It says Iris and HD graphics driver.

Use the quote button to reply to people so they get notifications that you did.

Try downloading the .zip version instead of the .exe, extract it and manually update the drivers for the "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" through device manager instead of using Intel's install wizard.

Ok so I tried to do the regular .exe driver update from the link again, and it says my system does not meet the minimum requirements.

When I do the driver update utility, the Iris is the one it pulls up. It says Iris and HD graphics driver.

Intel Driver update Utility is not always correct.

Plus there is no support for Windows 10 at the moment for that utility.

So just download this https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24348

Try to install it.

If it is not installing, then there is no support for Windows 10. Although there is no driver support for Windows 10 from intel, because it is still in technical preview version, not the full one.

Ok, strange, because when I had Windows 10 32-bit everything was working correctly.
