sennheiser or shure just like everyone said over here http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/24034-in-ear-headphone-for-music-on-mobile-for-200/page-2

the meze are a joke in this list.

Will work for electronic components and parts

another meze recommendation... linus really needs to tone down his 'unboxings' and do reviews for the people who parrot his every word.

it almost sounded like you were recommending them just there.

until I read it few times.

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/28598-am-i-the-only-one-that-doesnt-follow-blindly/

then saw the meze in this thread to really illustrate the point

and then there is the op who can't pull the trigger. in his first thread about this he got some really good links some really good recommendations... I really don't know what to say to the op anymore. pick one.

  • 2 weeks later...

does the SE315 will be good even if I doesn't using a flac files and an amp? or should i go with the SE215?

Ive got the shure se215 for my phone (GS2, no amp). They sound great, even without flac, 192kbps is fine as well (most people dont hear the difference anyways). I just added some bass in the equalizer to give them some bass for the metal and rock I listen to. As far as 315 or 215 I cant help you, know nothing about the 315's.

someone else can help me?

if i won't will using amp and flac files should i go with a 100$ headphones?

You won't be able do distingush a flac from a good quality mp3/aac with e.g. 256kbit/s on any of the listed earphones.

I'd go with either the Shure SE215 or SE315 (or if  you are willing to spend 43$ more then maybe even the Shure S425)

don't even bother spending $100 for that use.

so I will feel the diffrence between se315 and 215 on the nexux 4 on a youtube music without amp?

Well, i'd say that depends on the quality of the video. The higher quality videos use 256kbit/s 192kbit/s AAC audio streams ;)

I also don't know the SE215 or 315 to well. Consider the SE215 as something drasticaly better then those included earphones (like day/night) and the SE315 as a step up from that. You most definetly here a difference between the SE215 and SE315, but if it is actually worth twice the money largely depends on yourself.

I read A LOT of reviews on forums dedicated to audio stuff before spending over 300$ (back then) on my SE420 and also when I bought my Shure e2c (about 6-7 years ago?) and never had to chance to try them before buying (as they were only available online). i've never regretted

any of those purchases.

The choice of earphones/headphones/speakers will affect your listening the most out of any other component.

Personally, I love my $250 Sennheiser IE60s, couldn't stand $130 SteelSeries Flux In Ear Pros, and thoroughly enjoyed $60 JBL J33s. Everyone would enjoy a perfect speaker, but sadly we live in the real world where sacrifices are made to hit price points. No one can tell you if you'll prefer a more expensive pair of earphones over a cheaper pair. However, under certain price points, there are specific products that are considered "the best" in that range.

So to answer your question, is it "ok" to use $200 earphones with a phone and youtube? Absolutely - spend as much as you're willing! However, if you've no experience with lower cost earphones, you might want to try those out before deciding to upgrade. There are a lot of options under $100 that still sound great. :)

My question is: would i sound the different between 100$ earphones and 200$ on nexus 4 and youtube music?

Most probably yes. Is it worth a 100$ premium? That is questionable.

for 200$ does the Shure SE315 is the best? there is a lot of other stuff.

and what is the best for 100$?

I'd say the Shure SE315 is pretty good price/performance-wise and so is the SE215.

That doesn't mean that there are no alternatives.

----

In my opinion you should stay in the 100$-category for now. That is a huge improvement fromanything below 50$ and most certainely from those included earphones.
