Yes EasyBCD should do the job if its an entry in the windows bootloader.

Hi,

I once had a dual-boot with Ubuntu, but I deleted it. But when i start my pc, it still shows up as a choose next to windows 8.

I already checked if it's in the MSconfig menu, but there only Windows 8 is listed.

Anyone some idea ?

Is this what you see when you boot your pc http://www.pendrivelinux.com/wp-content/uploads/WUBI-Grub2.png

in that case reinstall windows MBR (Master Boot Record) and it should go away.
Here's info how to do that with windows cd, it's for win7 but i think it's the same for win8.

Or you can use easyBCD to write new bootloader from windows.

I don't get the same screen as you showing in the screenshot (i get this http://i.stack.imgur.com/soe0S.jpg) but i think that it changed for win8.

I also first installed win8 and after that i installed ububtu via wubi. But i will try the way that you describe.

easyBCD should be able to edit win8 bootloader, to add and remove options.

EasyBCD would be your best bet, as the other fellow users mention above.

  1. Re-Install Windows bootloader, using your windows 7 installation disk.

Delete all of the partitions created by ubuntu (e.g: swap, system etc.)

Boot up and see if it works

Happy camping

Compatible with Windows 95

  • 3 weeks later...

sorry for the very late replay, just back from vacation.

I tried the Easy BCD and it worked.

So thanks for the help.
