No, you can only run two, three, or four cards of the same model. Even a 660 and a 660ti won't work together. You can SLI two different manuafacturer's cards - i.e.: an Asus 770 and a MSI 770 can be SLI'ed.

Can somebody please confirm to my friend that you can't run different cards in SLI. Hes saying that you can have a 780ti and a 970 running in sli. Whos right here? 

amd cards with the same chip can be run in crossfire but no you can't run 2 different cards in sli

that would be if it worked correctly. most of the time it brings the more powerful card down.
