Hi, I am new to the forum. I recently saw Linus' value build guide, and I became interested in building it. I had an Xbox 360 for a couple years, and I have wanted to replace it by another console, or a value-oriented PC. I have an iMac 2012 that I game on quite a bit, but obviously the iMac lacks upgradability and a large game selection. I am into titles like Borderlands, Minecraft, other shooters, and many indie games as well, so not particularly graphic intense games. What I was wondering, is if Linus' value gaming PC would outperform my computer in terms of gaming. Here are some of the specifications:

2.8 GHz Intel Core i5

4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Ram

ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB

Again, I'm not looking for an outstanding gaming PC, but something affordable that can get above 60 fps in games with relatively low graphics settings, and the upgradability a DIY PC offers.

260x is cheaper than 750ti and performs the same. 270 is the same price and rapes 750ti.

I would say go for nvidia. but other than that you should be okay. if anything, double the RAM. life is just easier when you have enough ram. though my order is; Nvidia GPU > SSD > more RAM

THIS IS MY SUPER TEENY TINY SIGNATURE!

Ain't it just the cutest little signature.

Some would argue it is the cutest little signature ever.
