Wait for freesync monitors to be released, the price on GSync monitors might drop

Acer just announced a 2560x1440 IPS 144Hz g-sync monitor available March of this year.  Definitely wait until after CES to see what else may be announced.

Thrive on change. Embrace volatility.

Well, it's down to and upgrade being needed in my opinion. I needed a 144hz monitor, and I didn't think about buying g-sync until I found the AOC G2460PG on sale, it was a solid £80 off so I bagged it for £290. 1080p and the colour depth isn't anything special 80m:1. Personally I think its worth it if you can find one on sale, but it isn't 100% necessary. Thought I still think 144hz is a must for gaming.

The time to buy is when you're comfortable spending x amount of dollars.. the price is always going to be less as time goes on.

I bought the xb280hk for 800 preordered (amazon later pm to 620!) and I have zero regrets.  I don't care if its $300 next year.  I more than happy playing 800 for it now since I get to use it now.  I also doubt freesync is doing to drive prices down.  $200 seems like a fair increase to pay for this technology and they will probably match it.
