stupid cheap PCM2704 USB DAC. should I review it?

Peter Vaughan Truslow

in the quest for better audio on a nearly nonexistent budget, I picked up a SMAKN X5 USB DAC from amazon.com here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00R8WWL00/

it is based on the TI PCM2704 and I have a nagging suspicion it is a Muse audio X5 that's been rebranded with a sticker. I don't really care. they were similar prices and this one had prime shipping.

for less than $15, would anyone be interested in a review of what I believe to be the cheapest "hifi" external DAC I have ever seen? I will be testing it with a headphone amp, a speaker amp, a stereo receiver, and several headphones directly on the output, which will really test it.

I will also be dismantling the thing to inspect what parts are really under the hood and how good the solder job is.
