well how much?

Example BF4 now FPS is 50  with I5 will it be 60 FPS?

if its a quad core and you overclock it a bit you should get over 60

cpus usually are not a benchmark. start up whatever games you like, and leave task manager running. go do something intesnsive that makes your FPS drop. go back and see if your cpu is at 100%. if it is, than yes, a upgrade will help. its only 60 percent, and your gpu is sitting at 100%, then a gpu upgrade will help.

hi everyone, i was wondering upgrading my CPU to I5 (Current CPU is i3) will i make big difference in FPS

My GPU is r9 280

Gaming 1080p

depends on the games you play, lets just say you want to play bf4 on a 64 player map, you see a huge improvement on core i5 as it will utilize all those cores. but look at all the games you have and you want to play and look at the fps gain ppl are having from core i5 and compare them to yours and then see if the price you are paying for the upgrade is worth extra fps your gaining. imo if u have money to blow yes upgrade to a core i5 or else look at the price to the fps ratio.

his motherboard support AM2 and AM3 cpu so it won't support the 750K or 760K which are FM2 CPU's...it won't support FX processors either.

here is the supported CPU list for your motherboard...out of these the phenom II X6 are the fastest ones.

a used X6 1055T or 1045T are still worth around 110$ used or more so it would probably be best to just ditch the hole thing and just order this instead as this is much faster:

EDIT: found yourlsef a 1055t for 97$ on ebay ''buy it now'' but it's tricky buying such an old CPU chances are you will end up with a cpu that will die shortly after the purchase...i wouldnt take this risk.
