Is assassins Creed Unity Fixed yet?

I've always loved the Assassins Creed franchise and have been desperate to play the latest one, but i won't pay for a broken game. (One of the reasons i'm happy to wait for GTA5, in the hope they have spent the extra time making a decent well running game). I fully intend to play it eventually, but how is it in its current, patched form?

 

I'm running a 4670k and a GTX 980, so poor optimization on lower end systems isn't really an issue to me, as long as i can play at highest settings at 60fps, (2x MSAA maximum as i personally think anymore than that is a waste of resources) With an Xbox Controller on my television.

 

Any reports of game breaking bug still or just plain crashing would be appreciated. I've started to see more people saying they have it running better now so i'm im getting a bit hopeful now, plus the price of the game has been in freefall on all systems since launch, so that helps.

They made another patch that made it look worse. I hope they will fix that.

How much worse? Youtube videos are so compressed its hard to see any detail anyway.

Videos like this seem to show it running quite well, although the crowd do look rather 'last gen'

some textures look a bit muddy or unclear. I will me getting the game, but I was told by a friend. He said it looked better before the patch. your system should be able to handle the game at a nice setting.

I have another rig which has watercooled xfire 290s & OC FX8350 on a 4K monitor, but games like this i prefer to play on a TV with a controller. Does this game scale over anymore than 4 cores?

well playing on ps4 the patch fixed alot of bugs, i was getting stuck constantly while climbing in tight spaces. and well now i dont

The PC version is quite difference. One of the issues on PC was simply the poor coding and optimization for DirectX 11. Also you dont get things like SLI or Xfire issues on a console. But thanks for the input. I really hoped that the consoles moving to the x86 platform would stop all this crap port nonsense.

The game runs good for me i have a gtx 980 and 4790k oc 4.4ghz. It has a few hiccups every now and then but sits at 60fps most of the time.

If you have i5 cpu you are gonna have a bad time, anyone with i7 can get 60fps almost constantly, with i5 you get drops to 40fps and cpu is 100% almost all the time. Thats what i've noticed and tested.

I followed this settings instructions and now Unity runs butter smooth, not joking. I have 290x in crossfire though

second this. before i upgraded to my 4790k it was maxing out my 4670k and freezing on max settings, its ridiculous.

On another note, after the last patch i cant even play the game, it just crashes at the title screen. I even tried re-downloading it.

Is there a place to vote for the worst, most ill conceived game release of all time? because i have early access alphas that perform better than unity.

I have got it running smoothly enough on my GTX980. I have all the settings at high/ultra, but have the Nvidia features turned off and i have 4xMSAA. Im not sure of fps (locked at 60fps) but it feels smooth most the time. (i Don't want to know exact FPS as it will bug me if they are lower than i think. lol)

Apparently the AMD omega drivers and the newer Nvidia ones did help to an extent.

My biggest issue is the way the game loads textures. The pop in is very bad, and sometimes, they just never load.I can stare at a wall for 2mins without the texture loading, so you just see a blurred, muddy approximation of what's supposed to be there. That cant be an issue with draw calls or lack of GPU power, that's just poor programming.

Works fine for the xbone. I'm playing it now. I don't think Ubisoft cares about PC gamers so I will wait till that game is dirt cheap for my pc. I got it free for the xbone so can't complain about it.
