Expected FPS (BF4) at 1440p?

Go to solution Solved by ForsakenLive,

On high settings it should be between 45 to 70 fps without problems.

CES is coming up and hopefully BenQ will announce the release date on a 1440p monitor that I really want to buy. If I wanted to play BF4 on that monitor with my overclocked 780 on high settings what FPS should I expect?

YES I HAVE USED GOOGLE TO FIND BENCHMARKS BUT THOSE ARE ALL IN ULTRA SETTINGS, NOT HIGH

For what it's worth, BF4 at ultra(-ish) is playable with my GTX 770 4 GB at 1440p using DSR. Often 50+ FPS, though it's bumpier than I prefer. But yeah, it would clearly be fine on a 780, and I doubt you'd have to drop everything to High. You might lose some antialiasing, which is demanding in BF4.

On high your 780 should have no problem staying above 50 most of the time. My 980 pretty much stays at 55+ at 1440p.

At 1440p you don't really need that much AA so that should increase those even more.

If you're missing out on anti-aliasing (which might not be an issue at 1440P) you can always use SweetFX SMAA + LumaSharpen which looks as good as MSAA (in my opinion) and only costs a few frames per second.

I could be wrong here, but I don't think SweetFX works with DirectX 11 or 64-bit executables, and BF4 is both.

Ultra preset on my 780 @1080p is ~100FPS for me (I've seen 90-110) so it will be playable. My guess is max 85, average at 70.

that's 1080p though

There are versions of sweetFX which work with DX11 and 64-bit, I use it for BF4 (x64) myself. :)
