skullcandies not working in PC

My friend bought a new PC, http://www.amazon.com/CybertronPC-Borg-709-GMBG70934BL-Desktop-Blue/dp/B00NC06ZF4 , and the computer thinks that it is outputting audio to them but it's not.  he has them plugged in and set as default, and when he goes to sound he can see the bars the represent the volume of the audio output, but nothing is coming through.

has he tried to plug them into the audio jacks on the back of the pc ?

Easiest thing to do is just uninstall your audio driver completely and reinstall it with the latest driver from the right place.

 

 

Use CPUZ to determine your motherboard model if you dont know it.

Then once you know your mobo model go here and get the latest driver for your audio:

If they have an inline mic, then it may use a 4 pull connector. Those aren't always computer friendly. Splitters can be bought though.

 

Could also be as the others have said, if he's using the front connectors they may not be plugged in, or there may be missing drivers.
