Hello i am looking for a new AMD processor for my computer build. My AMD f(x) 6300 is starting to overheat thanks to one of the pins breaking(my fault). But anyway I am looking for a good affordable AMD processor that'll work well for me I'd prefer it to be under 200$.

Specs:

Motherboard:: MSI 970A-G43                    Ram:: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)              SSD:: Intel 730 series 240GB SSD

GPU:: ASUS Radeon R9 270                      CPU:: AMD FX™-6300 6-Core                                 CX430  corsair power supply

Motherboard:: Asus Maxiumus ROG Crosshair VII AM4     Ram:: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (2 x 8GB)     SSD:: Intel 730 series 240Gb SSD
GPU:: ASUS GTX 1080 8GB ROG Strix     CPU:: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x @3.70GHz   COOLING:: NZXT Kraken x72 AiO, 3x Thermaltake Riing Plus

A broken CPU pin shouldn't change the heat output of the processor. If it still boots and runs with the broken pin you need to evaluate your CPU cooling solution, not the CPU itself. (Heat sink, thermal paste, etc)

This.

It's not the CPU, it's the cooling.

As long as it still works you're fine. Just get a better cooling solution. FX processors tend to produce heat like it's the ice age. Hyper 212 evo is a good solution if you're short on cash.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Make sure your cooling is working correctly.

Also, make sure you applied thermal paste, and/or cleaned off the old stuff if you ever removed your cooler.

I just the stock heat sync on at the moment and i just changed paste not long ago. But my number did increase noticeably

That motherboard is a lowly 4+1 VRM phase design, without heatsinks.  Chances are your motherboard is causing the problem.  No way will you be able to run an FX8 off of that thing.  You need a new motherboard is my guess.

I'd say take off the cooler, clean it really well and apply new paste. Assure it's mounted all the way down and try again.

Also, the stock cooler isn't great. Almost anything would be better.

Well if you want features=Asus M5A97 R2.0, M5A99FX Pro R2.0

Performance(better OC)=GA-970A-UD3P, GA-990FXA-UD3/5/7

What features? and do they have room for upgrades

Motherboard:: Asus Maxiumus ROG Crosshair VII AM4     Ram:: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (2 x 8GB)     SSD:: Intel 730 series 240Gb SSD

Uhh no, AM3+ is a dead platform, you won't have room for upgrades.

And for features you get like Ai Suite, Fan Xpert, etc..

Do you have any suggestions for a new processor ?

Motherboard:: Asus Maxiumus ROG Crosshair VII AM4     Ram:: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (2 x 8GB)     SSD:: Intel 730 series 240Gb SSD

i5 4690K

As for a motherboard, any Z97 board will be fine.

And AMD one? intel is a little expense for me atm

No....there isn't any bad correlation between using a Intel CPU and AMD GPU...

So I would be able to change motherboards and CPUS and still be able to keep everything else? Sorry i'm sorta new to dis :P

If gaming is your priority, going with Intel will be better.

But you don't have to do any OS reinstall thing if you change the CPU and board.

Gaming and programming. So intel and the motherboard you recommended
