<UPDATED 2>

Greetings folks,

I am looking for suggestions/recommendations on an inexpensive/quality/performance computer build that is geared towards film editing, graphic design and heavy gaming, and I do plan on overclocking. My budget is around $1800. This is not my first build; my previous was an AMD build which is about 4 years old. This time, I am planning on an Intel build. I have already picked the parts that I thought were the best for their price and performance, but since this is my first Intel build, I would like a second opinion. In the future, I plan on adding a custom water-cooled loop when I have more funds.

Below is a list of parts from pcpartpicker.com

Don't use Windows 7, use 8.1.

Also, I'd tend to avoid the RM power supplies as they've had troubles in the past and companies may or not still have stock of the old defective units. I, as well as most others, recommend EVGA power supplies instead

Also you might want to just keep the same case, unless you don't like it because of the crappy corsair build quality  ^_^

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

Im concerned about choosing a good reliable PSU, for price/performance, why do you recommend EVGA?

Yes am switching to a different case "nzxt h440" Plus in the Future I'm planing on investing in a Case labs case

I recommend EVGA because it's not only what i use and have no problems with but because it seems very few people have every had problems with theirs.

And the EVGA 850 G2 in particular tends to have very good pricing, it's 110 dollars on NCIX if i remember correctly

Only a few things I suggest.

Make sure you need the motherboard that you chose. It may have a lot of bells and whistles but if you don't use any of them what is the point in buying them...

I think 16GBs of ram for now is fine but if you are a heavy editor in the future you might want to upgrade to 32GBs.

I agree with the psu upgrade. EVGA is well known for their psus being amazing.

Lastly the MX100 is a great boot ssd. Although you might want to look into additional storage for your videos.

Oh and on the case situation... If you plan on getting a case labs case soon there's no reason for the nzxt case... You might as well use your old case and wait it out.

Good luck!
